Traffic Projection

We combine our expertise in traffic growth projection methodologies, including historical regression and travel demand modeling, with our understanding of socioeconomic growth and land use development. We excel in producing reliable, data-driven projections that support planning and decision-making.

In Texas, our team members have had lead role for more than 10 years on developing traffic projections for seven TxDOT districts of Dallas, Pharr, El Paso, San Antonio, Austin, Amarillo and Laredo and private developers following TxDOT/TPP methodology.

Leveraging Historical Growth for Traffic Projections

We follow the industry standard in developing traffic projections using historical traffic data available through DOT’s Traffic Count Database System (TCDS), Traffic Analysis & Data Application (TADA), or other traffic mapping applications. We observe the trend and analyze the future projections within the expected horizon.

Expertise in Travel Demand Models

Our staff are well-versed in utilizing MPO’s travel demand models (TDMs) for traffic projections spanning across United States. With TDMs, we capture the effects of network improvements, land use developments, and socioeconomic growth.

Deliverables

Our services include full adherence to approved methodology, Average Daily Traffic (ADT) for opening year and 20- and 30-year forecast periods, traffic diagrams, and Traffic Analysis for Highway Design (TAHD) tabulations for air and noise analysis.
